PDRN is a mixture of deoxyribonucleotides derived from DNA extracted from the gonads of Oncorhynchus mykiss (rainbow trout).
It is a low molecular weight fraction of DNA, a very long molecule created by repeating units called monomers. The monomeric unit of this polymer is the deoxyribonucleotide.
The raw material is sourced from sperm cells, which are particularly suitable for obtaining highly purified DNA with minimal risk of impurities such as peptides, proteins, and lipids that may remain in somatic cells.
PDRN is extracted and purified at high temperatures through a process that ensures an active ingredient purity of over 95%. This high level of purity guarantees product safety and minimizes the likelihood of side effects, including those from an immunological standpoint
Increased cell growth
Enhanced secretion of collagen and non-collagen proteins:
- The addition of PDRN to fibroblast cultures increases the number of cells while simultaneously enhancing their metabolic and synthetic activity
- A significant increase has been observed in the synthesis of collagen and fibronectin, a key protein involved in the tissue repair process
PDRN is indicated for the repair of tissue damage. It has wound-healing properties—able to accelerate the healing process of wounds, ulcers, and burns—and anti-dystrophic activity, promoting the repair of damage at the level of organs or tissues
Clinical studies have documented the effectiveness of PDRN in:
- Healing diabetic foot lesions
- Pressure ulcers
- Localized scleroderma/morphea
